Ape Born: NextGen Ultra EMS stimulators shipped free to the UK

Ape Born is an online-only fitness brand best known for its NextGen Ultra electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) devices. These are strap-on units that sit around the abs, arms, glutes, thighs or calves and deliver timed pulses during a session of around 20 minutes. Instead of sticky gel pads, they use a water spray on the contacts, so there is nothing to refill or replace.

The shop is aimed at people who like home fitness gadgets and want to add EMS sessions to their routine. It is a US-based store: prices are in US dollars and orders ship from the USA, but delivery to the UK is free and the shipping page estimates 3 to 8 business days.

What's worth a look

• NextGen Ultra Muscle Stimulator, currently $149.99 (shown against $289.99). This is the abs and arms kit and the main entry point to the range. It comes with an 8-week challenge programme, a spray bottle, a $25 store gift card and a seven-day Elite Club trial.
• NextGen Ultra Full Body Stimulator Kit, currently $274.99 (shown against $589.99). Seven stimulators covering abs, arms, thighs and calves in one bundle, for people who would otherwise buy several separate units.
• NextGen Ultra Glute Stimulator, currently $99.99. A single unit shaped for the glutes, with three free extras included.
• NextGen Ultra Thigh & Calf Stimulators, currently $149.99. A four-piece set for the legs.

There is also the Elite Club, a paid membership with more than 100 on-demand video modules, weekly live calls with coach Jake Platt and an extended warranty. It costs $49.99 a month or $497 a year. Prices can change, so check the product page before you buy.

Current offers

• Sale prices across the stimulator range, with the Full Body Kit at $274.99 instead of $589.99.
• Free gifts with stimulator bundles: up to four extras including a $25 store gift card.
• Free shipping to the UK.
• 60-day trial: if you are not happy, contact the team within 60 days of delivery for a refund or replacement. You pay the return postage.

How to save more

• Watch the Elite Club trial that comes with many bundles. It is free for seven days and then rolls on at $49.99 a month, so cancel before then if you don't want it.
• Price up the kit against the single units you actually want. If you only plan to use one area, a single stimulator at $99.99 may make more sense than a bundle.
• Pay with a card that doesn't add a foreign transaction fee, because checkout is in US dollars.

Ape Born's range also includes a small supplements section. Speak to your GP or pharmacist if you have any concerns about your health.
