The Cartridge Centre: compatible ink and toner with a 12-month guarantee

The Cartridge Centre sells compatible printer ink and toner cartridges, which it calls Premium Compatibles. They're made to fit printers from the big brands, including Epson, HP and Brother, and cost less than the printer makers' own cartridges. The range also covers drum units, label tape and paper.

It suits home users and small offices who print regularly and want to keep running costs down. You search by printer model or cartridge code, and every product has a 12-month guarantee with a choice of a free replacement or a full refund. Support is by email only, as there's no phone line.

Product pages tell you roughly how many pages each cartridge should print. For most printers there is a standard capacity version and a higher capacity XL version, and the XL usually works out cheaper per page if you print often. The search box takes either your printer model or the code printed on your old cartridge, which is the quickest way to find the right one. If you're still unsure, email the team with your printer model before you order. Invoices can be downloaded from your order and shipping confirmation emails, which is handy for small businesses.

Current offers

• Unlock 10% off: the homepage has an "Unlock 10% off" link to a short form you complete to get your discount.
• Reduced best sellers: popular multipacks and toners currently show lower prices against earlier ones, as listed above. On the Epson 603XL multipack that works out at about a third off.
• Delivery: tracked delivery is £3.90. Orders placed before 5pm Monday to Friday are sent the same day and usually arrive the next working day.

How to save more

• Get the 10% discount before you check out, then buy a multipack rather than single colours if you print a lot.
• Delivery is charged per order, so buy a spare set in the same order rather than placing several small ones. Weekend orders go out on Monday, so order before 5pm on Friday if you're running low.
• Double-check the cartridge code against your printer. Unused items in sealed packaging can be returned within 14 days, but opened cartridges can't be returned just because they were the wrong ones.
