HerbsPro is a US online retailer that has been trading since 2004. It's run by Universal Herbs Inc from Hayward, California, and says it stocks more than 50,000 products from over 2,000 brands. The range covers vitamins and herbal supplements, natural skincare and body care, baby products, pet supplies, mobility aids and groceries.

It's most useful for UK shoppers who want a particular American brand that's hard to find here. Everything is priced in US dollars, and orders to the UK go by USPS International, usually arriving 10 to 14 business days after dispatch. You'll pay any import duty, fees and VAT due, and aerosols and other hazardous items can't be sent abroad. Speak to your GP or pharmacist if you have any concerns about your health.

How to save more

  • Put everything you want in one order, so you pay international postage once.
  • Before you order, check the product isn't an aerosol or classed as hazardous, as these can't be shipped outside the US.
  • Check the total in pounds and allow for UK import VAT and duty before you compare it with prices in UK shops.

HerbsPro accepts returns of unopened, sealed products within 30 days and doesn't charge a restocking fee. For a UK order, though, sending an item back across the Atlantic usually costs more than the item is worth. It's worth checking sizes, scents and ingredients on the product page before you order. If you need help with an order, the customer service team is on +1 510-324-2900 from 9am to 6pm Pacific time, Monday to Friday, which is late afternoon into the evening in the UK. Most orders are dispatched within three to four business days, and you'll get a tracking number by email. Probiotics and other cold-pack items are sent in ice-packed boxes within the US only. International orders go without the cold packaging, so avoid anything that needs to stay chilled.
