Home Fixtures: traditional taps, steel sinks and shower sets

Home Fixtures is an online shop selling kitchen, bathroom, shower and plumbing fittings to UK customers. Much of the range is in traditional British styles, such as bridge mixers with white ceramic levers, crosshead taps and Georgian-style dual-flow taps. They come in chrome, brushed nickel, antique brass and gold, alongside more modern pull-out and filter taps.

It's worth a look if you're refitting a kitchen or bathroom, or just replacing a worn tap or shower valve. As well as taps, the shop sells stainless steel sinks, bath fillers, thermostatic bar valves, riser rails, complete shower sets and spares such as replacement cartridges and diverters.

What's worth a look

• Bali brushed stainless steel kitchen sink: currently £199.99. It's a 760mm single bowl that can be fitted undermount or topmount, and there's a gunmetal grey version too.
• Astbury traditional bridge kitchen mixer tap, chrome: currently £129.99, with white ceramic levers. The gold, brass and brushed nickel versions are £139.99.
• Cotswold traditional filter tap, chrome: currently £139.99. It's a traditional-style tap with ceramic levers and an extra lever for filtered water.
• Dune thermostatic bar shower valve, chrome: currently £69.99. It's a straightforward exposed valve that pairs with the Dune riser rails.
• Shower niche, 300 x 300, brushed steel: currently £74.99. It's a recessed shelf for a tiled shower wall.

Current offers

• Rose gold filter taps at £40: the Turin and Geneva three-way kitchen filter taps in rose gold are currently £40 each. The filter system is sold separately.

How to save more

• If you need both, look at the Bali sink and Icon filter tap set, currently £274.99, rather than buying them separately.
• If a thermostatic shower is misbehaving, a replacement cartridge costs from around £30 to £80 and may save replacing the whole valve.
• Chrome is usually the cheapest finish, often £10 to £30 less than antique brass or gold in the same style.

Product pages list the useful details, such as tap hole size, maximum worktop thickness, minimum water pressure and what's in the box, so check these against your sink and plumbing before you order. The Turin tap, for example, comes with UK standard flexible connectors, an installation guide and a one-year guarantee.

Standard delivery starts at £4.95 and usually takes three to five working days after dispatch, with large items charged at checkout. Change-of-mind returns must be requested within 14 days, and you normally pay the return postage.
