OZAIZ is a small glassware and home fragrance label from New York, founded by Amy Anaiz. Before anything else: it currently ships only within the continental United States, Alaska and Hawaii, so UK shoppers can't order from it at the moment, and everything is priced in US dollars. If you live in the US, are spending time there, or want to send a gift to someone with an American address, it is worth a browse.

The idea behind the brand is glass that does more than one job. Its hand-blown pieces come in clear, frosted, charcoal, teal and citron, and are designed to move between uses: a tumbler for drinks, a candle holder once it is filled with wax, a diffuser, or a small vase. Candles and diffusers come in four scents, including Figs & Flowers, Oud & Bergamot and Santal & Spice, and there are refills for each so the glass can be used again.

What's worth a look

• ZAI Glass Tumbler in Clear: the everyday tumbler at the centre of the range, currently from $58, with larger quantities also listed. It is also the vessel used for the ZAI candles and diffusers.
• AIZ Glass in Clear: a taller piece sold as a carafe that can also be used as a vase, currently $90.
• Decanter Drinkware Set in Clear: pairs the carafe-style glass with a tumbler, currently $140, which makes a tidy bedside or desk set.
• ZAI Candle in Clear: a candle poured into the tumbler, with a choice of four scents, currently $100. When it burns down, the glass can go back to drinkware duty.
• AIZ Reed Diffuser in Clear: a reed diffuser in the larger glass, currently $138, with diffuser top-ups at $38 and candle refills at $42.

How to save more

• Buy refills rather than new pieces. Once you own the glass, a candle refill or diffuser top-up costs far less than a new candle or diffuser.

• Think about which pieces you will actually reuse. A clear tumbler is the most flexible choice if you plan to switch it between drinks, candles and flowers.
