Parcel ABC is an online booking platform for sending parcels, boxes and pallets. Rather than running its own fleet, it links a large network of local and international couriers and looks for spare space in their vehicles along your route. You enter where the parcel is going from and to, its weight and size, and the site shows the services available with a price and an estimated delivery time. The company behind it, Parcel ABC Limited, is registered in London and has been working on the system since 2014.

It suits people who send things now and then and don't want to compare several courier websites: sending a birthday present to family abroad, posting things you've sold online, or shipping a box of belongings when you move. Small businesses can use it too, and there is an API for online shops that want to pull rates and print labels automatically.

• Parcels within the UK: guide prices start at currently £8.72 for 1kg, £8.96 for 2kg and £9.67 for 3kg or 5kg, with an estimated delivery time of one day. Prices can change, and the exact figure appears when you get a quote.
• UK to mainland Spain: currently from £15.79 for 1kg, rising to £24.66 for 10kg. Handy if you have family or a holiday home there.
• UK to the United States: currently from £32.05 for 1kg and £78.46 for 10kg, with an estimated two days in transit.
