The Relentless Magazine Sports Awards is run by JWP Media Group, the London company that publishes Relentless, a print and digital magazine. It is open to individuals and organisations across sport: elite and amateur athletes, coaches, clubs, gyms, personal trainers, sports brands, venues, photographers and podcasters. You can enter as a UK national, UK regional or international applicant, and entries are judged every month.

It works differently from many awards. Entering costs nothing. If you are chosen as a winner, you are offered the award with an Award Acceptance Fee, and that fee pays for a publicity package. That makes it best suited to people and businesses who want paid PR around their achievement, and who are happy to read each package closely before accepting.

What's worth a look

• The application form: free to complete. It lists categories under headings such as Athlete, Team, Coaching and Leadership, Community and Impact, Business of Sport, and Fitness and Wellness, plus a separate set of combat sports awards.
• Winner Gold: currently £395 (prices can change). It covers one award win with a trophy and certificate, one online interview or article and a social media post.
• Winner Platinum: currently £495. It has the same trophy and certificate, with three online interviews or articles instead of one.
• Ultra Platinum: currently £1,499. This adds an interview or article in the print magazine, three online pieces and a digital front cover, with the option to have the cover printed.
• Trophy: currently £195 on its own. It is personalised and delivered free worldwide.

All winners get a certificate and a digital seal for their website or email signature. The publicity in the packages can include a press release on a newswire service and social media posts. The FAQ says that fees are invoiced on 30-day terms, payable by bank transfer, and that prices on the site are VAT exempt.

Current offers

We haven't found any discount codes. The FAQ says acceptance fees are not discounted and that any sector or sponsor offers are sent privately to entrants. Trophies are delivered free worldwide, usually within two to four weeks of the invoice being paid. There is also an Editor's Choice Award, which costs nothing and is given at the editor's discretion.

How to save more

• Look at what you need from the publicity before choosing a package. Winner Gold already includes the trophy and certificate, so the higher tiers mainly add articles and magazine coverage.
• The trophy comes with every package, so you won't need to buy the standalone trophy too.
• You can enter several relevant categories without paying anything. Only accept and pay for an award that fits how you plan to use it.
