visumPOINT is a visa and travel-document agency founded in Berlin in 2011. You pay it a service fee and it makes the visa application for you, from online authorisations such as the US ESTA to visas that need your passport sent to a consulate. It also handles apostilles and document legalisation, and works with employers on staff travel paperwork.

It's a German business, and most of its customers are travellers and companies in Germany, Austria and Spain. Its consulate service runs through its offices there. Online applications don't depend on where you live, so British expats in Europe and UK residents who'd rather hand over the paperwork can still use those. Fees are in euros and quoted net, and the price list is only in German. British citizens don't need a UK ETA, so its UK ETA service is for visitors coming to Britain, such as friends or colleagues from the EU.

What's worth a look

All the fees below are from the visumPOINT price list. They're net prices, and government or consulate fees are charged on top. Prices can change.

  • Service Level 1, currently €39: online travel authorisations such as the UK ETA, US ESTA and the equivalents for Canada and Australia.
  • Service Level 2, currently €79: e-visas for countries including India, Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Thailand.
  • Service Level 3, currently €119: sticker visas placed in your passport by a consulate, with submission and collection included. Examples include China, South Korea and Bangladesh.
  • Service Level 4, currently €159, and Service Level 5, currently €390: managed visas for more complex cases, where you have to attend the consulate in person. Level 5 covers US and UK visas and Schengen visas.
  • Document services: an apostille or final legalisation is currently €89, and pre-certification is €69.

There are paid extras as well. Appointment monitoring costs €99 checked daily or €199 checked hourly. Express processing adds €40 and priority adds €80.

Current offers

visumPOINT doesn't run discount codes. Its main promise is a money-back guarantee: if an online visa application it handles is rejected, it refunds the full amount. The cheapest service, ETA and ESTA applications, starts at €39 net.

How to save more

  • Check what you actually need before you pay. Many trips only need an online authorisation, and you can apply for these yourself on the official government website for just the government fee.
  • Apply early. Leaving it late can mean paying €40 to €80 extra for express or priority processing.
  • Budget for the full cost: the service fee, VAT on top of the net price, and the government or consulate fee.

You can reach the Berlin office on +49 30 42025880, or use the contact form on the English-language website.
