Android Homme is a men's trainer brand that started in Los Angeles in 2008. Its sneakers take their names from the California coast, such as Zuma, Point Dume and El Porto, and mix clean shapes with details like quilting, croc-effect leather and reflective heel trims. Most pairs are made in Portugal.

The brand suits anyone after a statement pair of trainers a step up from the high street. Full-price pairs mostly cost £165 to £215, so it is not a budget buy, but the outlet and student discount help. UK orders ship from a warehouse in Manchester, and orders placed before 2pm on a weekday are sent the same day.

The range is broader than trainers. You will also find oversized suede loafers, slides, boots, swim shorts, socks, caps and shoe-care products. The site has a sizing chart, and the brand says its footwear follows standard sizing. Every international parcel is sent with duties paid, so there are no extra charges on arrival, which matters less for UK buyers because UK stock ships from Manchester.

What's worth a look

Prices can change, so check the product page before you buy.

Look out for limited runs too. The Zuma Los Angeles Limited Edition, with a bird-of-paradise print, is currently £215.

Current offers

  • Student discount through Student Beans; the amount shows once you verify.
  • Outlet savings. The outlet has around 40 styles, with some reduced by about half.
  • Free UK delivery. The site banner offers free delivery on orders over £150, while the delivery page lists £170, so check at checkout. Otherwise DPD next-day delivery costs £5.90.

How to save more

  • Compare the outlet with the main range: several current-season Zuma and Point Dume styles are already marked down.
  • Full-price orders over £200 get a free UK return label, which takes the risk out of trying a new size.
  • Sign up to the newsletter to hear about new drops and seasonal reductions as they land, rather than paying full price the week before a markdown.
  • Klarna and Clearpay let you spread the cost, but only if you are sure you can keep up the payments.
