Baccus: a family-run Colchester menswear boutique with designer labels
An independent men's shop since 1966, Baccus sells BOSS, HUGO, Lacoste and Moose Knuckles online, with an outlet of half-price lines.

Baccus has been dressing men in Colchester since 1966. It is a third-generation family business, and it has traded from the same spot on Sir Isaac's Walk since 1973. The website carries the same edit of designer labels as the shop, including BOSS, HUGO, Lacoste, Fred Perry, Lyle & Scott, Tommy Hilfiger and Moose Knuckles. It suits anyone after premium menswear from an independent shop rather than a department store, and people buying gifts for men. Orders are handled by the same small team that runs the shop, and you can contact them by phone, email or WhatsApp if you have a question about fit or stock.
The range is mostly smart-casual: knitwear, hoodies, polo shirts, jeans, joggers, outerwear, caps and trainers. There is also an outlet section where end-of-range pieces are marked down. For colder weather, the jackets range currently includes down bombers, a puffer and a quilted shacket. The site lets you filter by size and colour, which helps because many lines are only left in a few sizes.
What's worth a look

- HUGO Hadrian Tenn Trainers: white tennis-style trainers, currently £84.50 (was £169).

Current offers
- Sale and Outlet: up to 50% off selected lines, including HUGO joggers, knitwear, underwear and trainers.
- Free UK delivery on orders over £50, according to the site banner. Next-working-day delivery by Royal Mail Special Delivery is £8, and guaranteed Saturday delivery is £10.
- Half price on Lyle & Scott Superfine sweatshirts and hoodies in selected colours.
Klarna is offered at checkout if you'd rather spread the cost. We haven't found any discount codes on the store's own pages, so the sale and delivery offers above are the main ways to save at the moment.
How to save more
- Start in the outlet. Reductions there are often bigger than the headline sale, with some trainers and knitwear at half price.
- Build your basket to £50 to get free delivery, and pick standard delivery (2-3 working days) unless you need the item by a set day.
- Check the sizing before you order. Refunds have to be requested within 7 working days of delivery, you pay the return postage, and underwear and swimwear can't be returned.
Products, prices and offers checked on the store's own website on 4 Oct 2026. Prices and stock can change.
