Bern: what UK riders need to know now Bern Europe has closed

Bern is an American helmet brand best known for its low-profile, skate-style helmets with a short built-in peak. Until this week, UK riders could buy them in pounds from Bern Europe, an online shop run from Northern Ireland. That has now changed: Bern Europe took its last orders at 23:59 on Sunday 4 October 2026, and from 5 October Bern looks after UK and European customers directly. Bern Europe's handover notice doesn't name a new UK web shop. Bern's own global site, bernhelmets.com, lists the United Kingdom as a delivery country, with prices in US dollars when we checked, so check the currency and any import charges at checkout.

This page is for anyone who already owns a Bern helmet, bought one from Bern Europe recently, or is weighing up the range for cycling, the slopes or the skate park.

What happens if you ordered from Bern Europe

• Orders placed before 23:59 on 4 October are packed and shipped by Bern Europe as normal.
• You keep the full 30 days from delivery to send back unused items in their original packaging. Returns received by 4 October were handled by Bern Europe; from 5 October Bern handles them.
• Bern's warranty against manufacturing defects still applies, and from 5 October claims go to Bern directly.

These were the regular prices on Bern Europe's site when we checked on 5 October 2026. Bern Europe is no longer taking orders, so prices from Bern directly may differ.

• Brentwood 2.0 MIPS helmet: the brand's city-cycling helmet, lighter and better ventilated than the original Brentwood. Regular price £119.95.
• Watts 2.0 winter helmet: a snow helmet in the same visor style, made for skiing and snowboarding. Regular price £164.95.
• Nino DVRT youth helmet: a children's bike helmet in bright colours and prints. Regular price £65.95.
• Classic Bern adult tee: a plain logo T-shirt from the small clothing range, at £27.95.

There are no current offers. Bern Europe has stopped taking orders, and we haven't seen any offers from Bern for UK customers yet. We'll add them here if we do.

How to save more

• Check the currency before you pay. If you buy from Bern's global site in US dollars, your card provider may add a foreign transaction fee, and import duty or VAT may be due when the parcel arrives.
• Bern helmets are also sold by independent bike and snow shops. Buying in person lets you try sizes and avoid paying to send back the wrong one.
• Many Bern helmets can be used for more than one sport, so look at the certification on the product page before buying separate helmets for cycling and skating.
