Cut Plastic Sheeting is a cutting service based near Ivybridge in Devon. You choose a material and thickness, enter your measurements, and the site gives you a price straight away, with extras such as drilled holes, polished edges and rounded corners if you need them. Much of its business is trade, but it sells to home DIYers too. That makes it handy for replacing a shed window, glazing a picture frame, fitting a mirror in a home gym or making a draught-busting secondary glazing panel.

The range goes beyond clear acrylic. There's polycarbonate, coloured, frosted and mirrored acrylic, Dibond aluminium composite, Foamex PVC, MDF and birch plywood, plus ready-made uses such as greenhouse panels, splashbacks and house numbers.

• Clear Polycarbonate Sheet: the toughest clear option on the site, worth considering for anything that might get knocked. Currently listed at £42.62 per square metre inc. VAT.
• Acrylic Plastic Magnetic Secondary Glazing Kit: a DIY way to cut draughts on single-glazed windows, made to your size up to 1000mm. An A2 panel in the standard sizes is currently £10.70 inc. VAT.
• Acrylic Mirror Sheet: shatterproof mirror for stables, gyms or kids' rooms. An A2 sheet is currently £21.14 inc. VAT.
• Wardrobe Mirror Replacement: aluminium composite mirror panels cut to fit sliding doors. An A0-size panel is currently £71.69 inc. VAT.

How to save more

• Keep your basket above £50 ex. VAT. Below that, a minimum order charge is added to cover setup costs.
• Check the standard A-size options before entering a custom size. If an A1 or A2 sheet is close enough, it's a quick, fixed price.
• Order a sample if you're unsure about a colour or finish, especially for coloured or frosted acrylic.
