eFans is the online shop of eFans Direct Ltd, a family business in Greater Manchester that sells heating and ventilation equipment. The team says it has more than 40 years of experience in HVAC and building services, and it includes site engineers who will answer questions by email. Much of the catalogue is aimed at trade buyers, but there is plenty for homeowners dealing with condensation, steamy bathrooms or a loft-to-ceiling ventilation upgrade.

It suits DIYers and landlords who know what they need, and anyone working with an electrician who wants to source the parts. Brands include Vent-Axia, Systemair, S&P, Elta, Greenwood, Manrose, Xpelair and Zehnder. Note that prices are shown excluding VAT, so add 20% to get the price you will pay.

What's worth a look

• Systemair BF Silent Bathroom Extractor Fan 100mm: a low-energy, IPX4-rated fan with a built-in back-draught shutter, currently £69.99 ex VAT for the standard version. Timer and humidistat versions are also listed.
• Vent-Axia Solo Plus P pullcord fan: a 4-inch centrifugal fan for bathrooms and toilets, currently £75.99 ex VAT.

How to save more

• Bundle jobs together. If you are replacing a bathroom fan and a kitchen fan, or buying ducting at the same time, one order is more likely to clear the free delivery threshold.
• Get the size right first time. Change-of-mind and wrong-item returns carry a 25% restocking fee plus return postage, so check duct diameter and fitting type, or email the engineers before ordering.
• Join the eFans mailing list, which they say includes special offers, giveaways and discounts.
