Eleria: reusable period cups and a clean-on-the-go case

Eleria is a small UK brand that makes reusable period cups and a portable case for looking after them. It was started by Monica Wai and Kira Goode, who met while studying innovation at the University of Bristol. Their research found that two things often put people off cups: rinsing one in a public toilet and sterilising it in a shared kitchen. The Eleria case is designed to deal with both.

It suits anyone thinking about switching from single-use pads and tampons, and existing cup users who want an easier way to clean theirs away from home. The case works with most cups up to 46mm wide and 75mm tall, not just Eleria's own.

What's worth a look

• Period Cup Cleaning & Sterilising Case: currently £27.50. You half-fill it with water, shake to rinse the cup, then drain through the funnel end. You can also microwave it with water inside to sterilise the cup.
• The Green One period cup: currently £17.50. Eleria's cups also come in purple, yellow, pink and blue at the same price, and each comes with a cotton storage bag.
• Eleria Cup & Case bundle: a cup and case together, currently £36. Available in all five colours.
• Eleria gift card: from £10, which could be a thoughtful present for someone curious about trying a cup.

Eleria also runs a donate a cup scheme with the charity Period Friendly Places. It costs £10 and provides a reusable cup to someone affected by period poverty.

Eleria's FAQs say it does not run special discounts and prefers to keep everyday prices low, so we have not found any codes on its own pages.

How to save more

• If you are buying both items, choose the bundle rather than adding them separately.
• If you already own a cup that fits the size limits, buy just the case.
• Take the cup quiz before ordering. Because these are intimate products, Eleria cannot accept returns for change of mind or the wrong size.
