King & Country is a British gin brand based in Seahouses on the Northumberland coast. Its gin is bottled at 42% ABV and made with 11 botanicals, including juniper, rose hip, sea buckthorn, cardamom, milk thistle and angelica root, and the brand takes its name and crest from a mix of Scottish and English heritage. The company says the gin has won five awards for taste and cocktails, including two Gold awards from The Gin Guide for its Martini and Negroni.
It's a good fit if you're after a gin gift with a story behind it, or you want to try a smaller producer for your own G&Ts. The site suggests a simple serve of 40ml gin, 80ml tonic, plenty of ice, fresh lemon and a sprig of rosemary. Alongside the gin, the shop sells branded clothing and bags, and gives optional gift messages on bottles.
