ReadyWise sells freeze-dried and dehydrated meals that keep for years in a cupboard and only need water to prepare. The UK shop is run by ReadyWise UK Limited, with a registered office in London and orders sent by DPD. The company says many of its kits have a shelf life of up to 25 years when kept cool and dry.
It suits two kinds of shopper. Campers, hikers and anglers can use the pouches as light, quick meals on a trip. Households who like to keep a backup food supply for power cuts, storms or simply busy weeks can buy larger buckets that stack neatly in a garage or cupboard. Most meals are ready a few minutes after adding hot water, though many will rehydrate in cold water too. The common allergens listed are milk, soy and wheat.
What's worth a look
- ReadyWise UK Emergency Food Sample, currently £12.99, is a sensible starting point if you want to try the food before buying in bulk.
- 28 Servings Grab & Go Dry-Bag covers breakfast, lunch and dinner for one person for three days. It's currently £89.99.
- 60 Servings Lunch & Dinner, with 13 different recipes, is enough for one person for a week and is currently £169.99.
- 120 Serving Freeze Dried Fruit Bucket is currently £189.99. Freeze-dried fruit also works as a snack or sprinkled on cereal.

Current offers
- Buy two products and save 5%, or buy three or more and save 10%. There's a limit of ten of each item per person.
- The 3-Day Food & Hydration Bundle is £89.99, down from £134.98.
- The 80 Serving Meat & Rice Bucket is £289.99, down from £329.99.
- A free survival guide and a free outdoor guide can be added to your basket at £0.
How to save more
- Combine items to use the multibuy discount: a fruit bucket, a vegetable bucket and a meal pack together would qualify for 10% off.
- Compare cost per serving. The larger buckets and long-term packages usually work out cheaper per meal than the small grab-and-go bags.
- Store your food somewhere cool and dry so it lasts as long as possible and nothing goes to waste.
UK orders are dispatched within two working days by DPD from a logistics centre in Southampton, and the site accepts PayPal and Klarna. If you're new to freeze-dried food, the FAQ page is worth a read: it covers how much water each serving needs, where to store your supply and which allergens to look out for.
