Rocket Espresso UK is the official UK distributor and online store for Rocket Espresso Milano, which hand-builds its machines in Italy. The shop is run by PRO Espresso Ltd from a showroom in Montpelier, Bristol, and has been the official distributor since 2020. Buying here means UK stock and Rocket UK warranty support, and the company warns that grey imports may not include import duties or UK warranty cover.

It suits home baristas ready to move up from a pod or entry-level machine, and anyone who wants a matching grinder and machine from the same maker. These are big purchases, so the bundles, trade-ins and finance options are worth knowing about.

The models fall into two groups. Heat-exchanger machines such as the Appartamento, Mozzafiato and Giotto use one boiler for brewing and steaming and cost less. Dual-boiler machines such as the R58 Tune and Bicocca keep the two jobs separate, which gives you more control over brew temperature, and they cost more. If you make one or two milky drinks a day, a heat-exchanger model will usually be enough. The company also runs a separate help centre, Rocket at Home, with buying advice for UK owners.

What's worth a look

• Rocket Espresso Appartamento 2.0 in white, currently £1,350. A compact heat-exchanger machine, so you can brew and steam milk at the same time. It is the cheapest way into the Rocket range.
• Appartamento TCA in steel and black, currently £1,450. The newer version adds Temperature Control Adjustment, so you can change the brew temperature to suit different beans.
• Mozzafiato R Fast in chrome, currently £1,950. A larger heat-exchanger model. The Mozzafiato R Fast + Spluga grinder package is £2,770.
• Rocket Espresso R58 Tune in chrome, currently £2,700. The latest version of the dual-boiler R58, with separate boilers for brewing and steaming.
• Rocket Faustino grinder in chrome, currently £560. A good match for the Appartamento if you are buying a grinder at the same time.
