YourParkingSpace is a London-based website and app for booking parking in advance. Instead of circling for a space, you search a destination, compare nearby spots by price and walking distance, and reserve one by the hour, the day or the month. The spaces include private driveways and garages as well as hotel, supermarket and commercial car parks, and the company says it lists more than 350,000 across the UK and Ireland.
It suits anyone driving into a busy city for a day out, commuters who want a regular monthly space, and people flying from a UK airport who would rather not pay on-site rates. Once you book, you get the full address and access details by email, and you can extend a stay from the app.
The business began in 2012 with the idea of renting out empty driveways in South West London, and later added hotel, supermarket and commercial car parks. Some car parks also let you turn up and pay through the app using the Location ID shown on the signs, which can be handy if your plans change on the day. Each listing shows the size of vehicle it suits, any height limits and whether you can come and go during your booking, so it is worth reading the notes before you pay.
What's worth a look
- Parking near Tower Bridge, with spaces currently listed from £1.00 to around £8.79 as a starting price depending on the car park and how far you are happy to walk.
- London parking, where the site currently shows daily prices from £1.25 and monthly spaces from £80, with averages of £28.71 a day and £303.41 a month.
- Gatwick Airport parking, showing daily prices from £2.50 and an average of £10.31 a day at the time of writing, including hotel car parks with transfer options.
- Airport parking A to Z, covering airports from Aberdeen and Belfast to Southampton and Stansted.

How to save more
- Look a little further out. Spaces a 15 to 25 minute walk away are often much cheaper than those right next to a station or venue.
- If you drive to the same place most weekdays, compare the monthly price with paying daily; monthly bookings need 7 days' notice to end.
