Bunches has been sending flowers through the post for longer than most online florists have existed. Erik and Sandra Hoving started out selling blooms under an umbrella in Mansfield in 1989, began posting bouquets with the Post Office a year later, and the business is still run by the family from Newstead Village in Nottinghamshire. It suits anyone who wants to send flowers anywhere in the UK for a set date without paying florist delivery prices, and it's handy for last-minute birthdays thanks to next-day dispatch.

Bouquets are designed and packed by Bunches' own team, many stems come from Florverde certified farms in Colombia, and the company says it gives at least 10% of its profits to work with people in poverty. Flowers are sent in bud so they open after arrival, and there's a seven-day freshness guarantee.

What's worth a look

  • Autumn Warmth Letterbox, currently £21.85. Letterbox flowers fit through the door, so nobody has to be in to receive them, and they're among the cheapest options on the site.
  • Pink Roses and Freesias, currently £32.50. A hand-tied bouquet of pink roses, white freesias and two-tone alstroemeria for when you want something fuller.
  • Peace Lily Plant, from £20.50. Bunches' house plants come with a choice of pot, and a plant lasts far longer than cut flowers.
  • Afternoon Tea Hamper, currently £20.75. Scones, jam and tea in a gift box, if the person you're buying for prefers something to eat.
  • Flower subscriptions, from £25 per delivery. Choose weekly, fortnightly or monthly bouquets, with the option to cancel at any time or set a fixed three, six or 12-month gift.

Prices can change, so check the product page before you order.

Current offers

  • 15% off all flowers and plants with code SAVE15.
  • Free delivery on flower and plant orders with code sendflowers2026, which saves the usual £4.99 Royal Mail Tracked 24 charge.
  • Refer a friend: they get 500 Posy Points (£5) towards their first order, and you get the same once they've ordered.
  • Students can get a discount after verifying with Student Beans.
  • Paid Blossom membership (£8.99 a year) includes three free delivery credits and 20-25% off selected items; Full Bloom (£13.99) gives five credits.

How to save more

  • Sign up for an account instead of using guest checkout. You'll earn five Posy Points per £1, each worth 1p, and they last for two years.
  • If you send flowers several times a year, compare the delivery credits in a membership with paying £4.99 each time.
  • Order by 5:15pm on a weekday (10:45am at weekends) for next-day delivery, so you don't end up paying elsewhere for a rushed alternative.
