Car Audio Centre started on a Nottingham market stall in 1992 and took its current name in 2001. Today it sells car stereos, speakers, subwoofers and amplifiers alongside dash cams, reversing cameras and parking sensors, from brands such as Pioneer, Kenwood, JVC, In Phase and Road Angel. It also has stores in Ilford, Tooting and Nottingham, where installers can fit what you buy.

It suits drivers who want to add Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to an older car, people upgrading tired factory speakers, and anyone shopping for a dash cam. The site also stocks fascia kits, steering wheel control adapters and wiring looms, which you'll often need to fit a new stereo.

If you'd rather not fit things yourself, the stores in Ilford, Tooting and Nottingham have qualified installers and can quote for fitting, including custom installs. The stores are open Monday to Saturday, and it's worth phoning ahead to book your car in. Online orders are sent from a large distribution centre, with DPD handling most deliveries. Bigger purchases can be spread with Klarna finance, subject to status, so read the terms before you sign up.
