CartridgeMonkey has been selling printer supplies online since 2003. It's run by Netgiant Ltd from Manchester and stocks ink and toner for most of the big printer makers, including HP, Brother, Canon, Epson, Lexmark, Samsung and Xerox. It also sells printer paper, label tapes and a small range of printers. It suits anyone who prints regularly at home or in a small office and wants to compare branded cartridges against cheaper compatible ones without much fuss.

A quick note on how we checked: the live site blocks automated visits, so the prices below come from archived copies of CartridgeMonkey's own pages. Prices for ink change often, so check the current figure before you order.

The easiest way in is the cartridge finder on the homepage. You choose your printer's maker, family and model, and it lists every cartridge that fits. Each listing shows a cost per page, which makes it easier to see when an XL cartridge or a compatible version works out cheaper over time.

What's worth a look

  • Compatible HP 304XL Black ink cartridge: CartridgeMonkey's own-brand version, rated at around 300 pages, was listed at £24.38 when we checked an archived copy of its site (October 2025). Own-brand cartridges come with a three-year guarantee.
  • Original HP 304 Black ink cartridge: if you'd rather stick with the printer maker's own ink, the standard black was listed at £17.54 when we checked an archived copy of its site (October 2025).
  • Compatible HP 304XL Tri-Colour ink cartridge: the colour partner to the black above was listed at £26.86 when we checked an archived copy of its site (October 2025), against £35.44 for the original HP XL version.
  • Compatible HP CE285A black toner: for the popular LaserJet Pro P1102 range, the own-brand toner was listed at £41.68 when we checked an archived copy of its site (July 2025). The original HP 85A was £83.35.

Beyond ink and toner, there's a paper section covering office, laser, inkjet, coloured and photo paper, and a range of printers that are delivered free.

Current offers

We currently list three CartridgeMonkey codes: 4% off own-brand compatible ink cartridges with CMOWN4, 8% off own-brand compatible toner cartridges with CMOWN8, and 3% off original ink and toner cartridges with CM3.

  • Free next-working-day delivery on standard orders placed before 5:30pm, Monday to Friday. Timed delivery before 1pm or 10:30am, and Saturday delivery, cost extra.
  • Free recycling for your empty cartridges through its recycling scheme.

Delivery is to UK addresses and BFPO only. It doesn't ship to Ireland, and Channel Islands orders carry an £18 delivery charge.

How to save more

  • Compare the cost per page, not just the price. An XL or compatible cartridge often costs more up front but less per printed page.
  • Match the code to what's in your basket: CMOWN8 for own-brand toner gives the biggest percentage of the three.
  • Save your printer in your account so Quick Reorder pulls up the right cartridges next time, which helps avoid buying the wrong one.
