Cashback Remortgages is a trading style of Crayon Financial Solutions Ltd, a mortgage brokerage in Uxbridge, west London. The company was set up in 2016 and is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (firm reference number 753785), which you can check on the FCA Register. It works with homeowners across the UK by phone, video call and email. This article describes the service; it isn't financial advice, and whether a particular mortgage is right for you depends on your own circumstances.

What's worth a look

  • Remortgage advice. The firm's main focus is helping people whose fixed or tracker deal is ending to compare a move to a new lender. It describes itself as whole-of-market and says it searches more than 90 lenders.
  • Product transfers. If staying with your current lender on a new rate turns out to be the better option, advisers can arrange that too, and it can also qualify for cashback.
  • No broker fee. Instead of charging you, the firm is paid a commission by the lender when the mortgage completes. Its own guide is clear that lender arrangement fees, valuation and legal costs, and any early repayment charges on your current deal may still apply.
  • Cashback calculator. A free tool on the site that gives an indicative cashback figure for a given loan size, plus repayment and overpayment calculators.

Advisers also arrange mortgages for first-time buyers, home movers and landlords. Most buy-to-let mortgages are not regulated by the FCA.

The process starts online. You create an account, enter your current lender, interest rate and the date your deal ends, and an adviser gets in touch when there are options to discuss. The site has a large library of guides and FAQs covering things like stamp duty, product transfers and how broker commission works. If you'd rather talk to someone straight away, the team can be reached on 020 8706 0915 or by email.

Current offers

  • Up to £1,500 cashback on eligible remortgages, depending on loan size and conditions.
  • Up to £750 cashback on eligible product transfers. You receive the amount for the mortgage you actually complete, not both.
  • Free remortgage advice with no broker fee to pay.

How to save more

  • Ask your adviser to confirm the cashback amount and payment conditions in writing before you proceed, as the firm says it will.
  • Compare the total cost over the deal period, including interest, product fees and exit charges. The firm's own pages point out that cashback alone doesn't show whether a mortgage is cheaper or more suitable.
  • Start looking well before your current deal ends so you have time to compare options. The free government-backed MoneyHelper service also has guides on remortgaging and choosing an adviser.

Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.
