DAME is a British period care brand set up by Celia Pool and Alec Mills. It started out with a reusable tampon applicator and now sells a full range of organic cotton tampons and pads, period pants, washable pads and a menstrual cup. It suits anyone who wants to cut down on single-use plastic, whether that means switching completely to reusables or simply choosing organic cotton disposables. The company is a certified B Corp and its products are certified vegan.
If you're new to reusables, the site has a short quiz that asks what you're looking for and how heavy your flow is, then suggests matching products. Period pants come in a range of sizes and styles, including a teen version, and the washable pads come in several absorbencies so you can mix them to suit different days. For people who prefer disposables, the organic cotton tampons are sold without applicators, and the reusable applicator is sold separately when in stock. DAME also supplies dispensers for workplaces and venues, which is handy to know if you're pushing for free period products at work.
