John Parrott Sports is the online shop fronted by John Parrott MBE, the former professional world snooker champion and one-time team captain on the BBC's A Question of Sport. It has been trading since 2008 and ships from Crewe. Cue sports are its speciality, with cues from Peradon, Cannon, PowerGlide and Britannia, Aramith balls, tables, cases, tips and chalk. It also sells darts and kit for a long list of other sports, from table tennis and badminton to cricket, netball and pickleball.
It suits club players upgrading their cue, families setting up a games room, and anyone buying a present for a snooker or darts fan. The product pages are detailed, covering cue length, weight, tip size and joint type, which helps when you can't try a cue in person. The team also says it understands what players need and is happy to help you choose. Every price includes delivery to UK mainland addresses, and there's a 28-day money-back guarantee on everything except custom-made items.
What's worth a look
- Peradon York three-quarter jointed snooker cue – currently £424.90. It's hand-made in Liverpool with an ash shaft and ebony splices, and an engraved name plate is available. Prices can change.
- Cannon Cub junior snooker cue – currently £59.90, a 48-inch cue for younger players.
- Aramith Premier snooker balls (2 1/16") – currently £124.90 for a full-size set.
- Unicorn Eclipse Pro II dartboard – currently £50.90, a staple-free board with slim wiring.
- Unicorn Striker Home Darts Centre – currently £76.90, a ready-made setup for a garage or games room.
Current offers
- Free UK mainland delivery: all prices include delivery to the UK mainland. Larger items go by DHL next day, and most orders ship within 48 hours.
- Accessory bundles: many product pages list matching accessories at a discount when you add them to the same order. With the Eclipse Pro II, for example, the Maestro dartboard cabinet is £49.60 instead of £54.90.
- Dartboard add-ons: the Harrow Official Competition Dartboard (currently £51.90) comes with darts at a discount: Harrow NX90 90% tungsten darts are £42.20 instead of £50.90, and Chizzy 80% tungsten darts are £42.30 instead of £50.90.
We haven't seen any discount codes on John Parrott Sports' own site. Check this page for any codes we add.
How to save more
- Buy the cue case, cabinet or extension with the main item rather than separately, so you get the accessory discount, which is usually around 10%.
- Compare cue brands before you spend. PowerGlide and Cannon cues cost less than Peradon's hand-made range and are a sensible choice for newer players.
- Gift vouchers are available if you're buying for a player and don't know their preferences.
Outside cue sports, it's worth browsing the table tennis, badminton and garden games sections too. Delivery is included on those as well, so smaller orders such as a tube of shuttlecocks or a pack of table tennis balls don't pick up a separate postage charge.
