My Music Lessons is a Teesside-based company that makes booking and admin software for private music teachers and music schools. Instead of juggling texts, spreadsheets and bank transfers, teachers get one system for their diary, online booking, reminders, invoices and card payments. It also runs a free teacher directory, so it's useful to learners and parents too. It suits self-employed teachers who want less admin, small music schools running several teachers and rooms, and families looking for a local or online tutor.
What's worth a look
- Teacher plan: currently £9.95 a month after a one-month free trial, with unlimited free student accounts and no fixed contract. It covers single and weekly lessons, packages, memberships, homework, gift vouchers and a public profile page (prices can change).
- Music school plan: currently £9.95 a month plus £2.95 per teacher, with each room or facility charged as an extra seat. This adds your own branding and web address, room calendars that can't be double-booked, and automatic pay splits between the school and its teachers.
- Feature list: everything sits on one plan, including a waiting list for filling cancellations, Skype and Zoom links, cloud storage for sheet music and backing tracks, and income reports for your tax return.
- Free listing: a teacher profile with your prices, qualifications, reviews and cancellation notice, plus a place in the search directory. It stays free even if you don't carry on with the paid booking system.
- Teacher directory: free for learners to browse by instrument and town. At the time of writing it lists hundreds of piano, guitar and singing teachers, and many offer lessons online.
Current offers
- One-month free trial: every new teacher or music school account starts with a free month. You don't need to enter a card to sign up; you add one in your billing settings if you want to carry on. After that it's £9.95 a month for a teacher, or £9.95 plus £2.95 per teacher for a school, and you can cancel at any time.
- Free directory listing: teachers can create a profile and be listed in the search for free.
- Free student accounts: pupils and parents can join, find a teacher and book without paying a membership fee, and the site says it doesn't add a booking fee to lesson prices.
How to save more
- Pick the right account type. A single teacher only needs the standalone plan; the organisation account is worth it only if you need several teachers, rooms or your own branding, since each extra seat adds £2.95 a month.
- Use the free month to set things up properly: import your existing students with the bulk CSV upload and set your availability, so you can judge it on real bookings before you pay.
- If you mainly want new pupils rather than the booking tools, keep just the free listing. Students can still send you booking enquiries through it.
For learners, remember that lessons are agreed with the teacher or school, not with My Music Lessons, so check each teacher's prices and cancellation notice on their profile before you book.
Products, prices and offers checked on the store's own website on 4 Oct 2026. Prices and stock can change.
