My Music Lessons is online software built for private music teachers and music schools. It handles the day-to-day admin of teaching: a diary and availability, online booking, automatic reminders, invoices, card payments through Stripe, homework and practice schedules, and messaging with students. It works in a web browser and through apps for iPhone and Android.
Teachers pay a flat monthly fee after a one-month free trial, and there is no fixed contract. Music schools pay the same base fee plus a charge for each extra teacher or room, which unlocks their own branding, room calendars and automatic pay splits between the school and its teachers. Student and parent accounts are free, and the company says it does not add a booking fee to lesson prices.
For learners, the site also runs a teacher directory listed by instrument and town, covering piano, guitar, singing, drums and many other instruments, with many teachers offering lessons online. Lessons are booked and paid for with the teacher or school directly, so prices and cancellation rules are set by them. The business is run by My Music Lessons Limited, a company registered in England and Wales in 2016 and based in Stockton-on-Tees.
| Delivery | Software only: it runs in a web browser and in iOS and Android apps; lessons booked through it are given by each teacher in person or online, with Skype and Zoom integration. |
|---|---|
| Returns | Teacher and school plans have no fixed contract and can be closed at any time, but fees already paid for the current month are not refunded; students who give the teacher's required notice (24 hours unless stated) can rearrange or take a credit. |
| App | Apps are available on the App Store and Google Play, though the monthly fee can only be paid in a web browser. |
| Ways to pay | The monthly fee is charged to a card added in the account's billing settings; students pay teachers by card through Stripe, or directly where the teacher allows it. |
