About Alzheimer's Society

Alzheimer's Society is a charity for people affected by dementia. It was set up by carers in 1979, under the name Alzheimer's Disease Society.

It offers support to people living with dementia and those who care for them, including a telephone support line and dementia advisers. It funds research into the causes, treatment and prevention of dementia, provides information and training, and campaigns for the rights of people with dementia. Its Dementia Friends programme helps the public understand the condition.
