About Cancer Research UK
Cancer Research UK is a charity that pays for research into the causes, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of cancer. It was formed in 2002 when the Cancer Research Campaign and the Imperial Cancer Research Fund merged.
Most of its spending goes on funding scientists, doctors and nurses working on cancer research. It also gives the public information about cancer, works on policy to influence government decisions, and raises money through donations, events and its network of charity shops.
