GAME is a British video games retailer founded in 1990 by Peter Wickins and Neil Taylor. It grew into one of the best-known names on the high street, went through administration in 2012 and was rescued by OpCapita, then sold to Frasers Group in 2019. Its standalone UK shops have since closed, and GAME now trades online at game.co.uk and through in-store concessions inside Sports Direct and House of Fraser.
The range covers PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo consoles, games and controllers, plus PC gaming kit, headsets and other tech. Over the years it has also moved well beyond games, with a large selection of LEGO, board games, toys, Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! trading cards, character gifts and digital gift cards for the main gaming platforms. Big new releases are usually available to pre-order.
Because GAME is part of Frasers Group, it offers Frasers Plus, a credit account that lets you pay in three interest-free instalments or spread the cost over longer terms, and earns points when you shop. Frasers Plus customers also get early access to selected discounts. GAME also has its own app for iOS and Android.
