About the team

The Voucher Magpie team finds discount codes and deals for UK shoppers, keeps our store pages up to date, and writes our money-saving guides and news. We're a small team based in Wales, part of Digital Gnome.

Every code we list comes from the store itself: published on its own website, app or help pages, or supplied through its official affiliate programme, such as Awin, CJ or Rakuten. We never copy codes from other voucher sites, and we keep a record of where each one came from, so you can see the source on every code.

We use AI to validate that voucher codes actually work. A code that passes gets a Verified badge with the date and time it was checked. Codes with an end date come down when it passes, and when you tap "Didn't work?" the code goes straight back to be checked again; if it fails, we take it down for everyone.

Store pages go beyond the codes: delivery and returns, student and Blue Light discounts, how to use a code at that store's checkout, and our store spotlights, which pick out products worth a look with prices checked on the day. Our news and guides cover sale dates, your rights when you shop online, and ways to cut household bills.

Stores pay us a commission when you buy through our links. It never changes your price, stores can't pay to rank higher or to have a code marked verified, and half of what we earn goes to the charity you choose. Mike Dodd, our founder, is responsible for everything we publish.

How we work

What happens between a store publishing a code and it appearing here.

How we verify, in full
  1. Codes from the stores themselvesWe take codes and deals from stores' own websites, apps and help pages, and from their official affiliate programmes such as Awin, CJ and Rakuten. We never copy codes from other voucher sites, so every code has a source we can point to.
  2. AI checks they actually workWe use AI to validate that voucher codes actually work. A code that passes gets a Verified badge with the date and time of the check; one that doesn't isn't marked as verified.
  3. Dead codes come downCodes with an end date come down when it passes, we recheck what's live, and when you tap "Didn't work?" the code goes straight back into the queue to be checked again.

What you'll see on every code

  • Verified with a date and time: it passed our check then.
  • Published by the store: taken from the store or its affiliate programme, not yet verified by us.
  • When it was last checked, and where it came from.
  • Who can use it (new customers, students, app only) and the store's terms.

What we won't do

  • List codes we made up or copied from another voucher site.
  • Add fake countdown timers or "only 2 left" pressure.
  • Let a store pay to rank higher or to have a code marked verified.
  • Change your price: stores pay us a commission when you buy, and we donate half of it to the charity you pick.
