Ready Steady Bed is a Birmingham company that has been making children's soft furnishings since 2006. It designs, prints and sews its products in its own UK factory, and sells direct online. The range is built around sleepovers and playrooms: fold-out Z beds, kids' bean bags and armchairs, and foam play sofas.

The play sofas come in indoor and outdoor versions, and the shop also sells replacement buttons for them. Some items have longer lead times than others, so check the product page for timings before you order for a birthday or a particular weekend. Courier and tracking details are emailed when your order is dispatched.

It suits parents who need a spare bed for visiting friends or cousins without giving up floor space, or who want a soft seat for reading and gaming that a child can carry around. Many designs come in several prints, so chairs and beds can match. Delivery is free throughout mainland UK.

What's worth a look

• Kids Z Bed Foldable Sofa Bed Guest Mattress, currently £54.97 (was £67.99). A printed chair that folds out into a sleepover mattress.
• Water Resistant Single Z Bed for Kids, currently £59.97 (was £72.99). The same idea with a wipe-friendly cover, handy for younger children.
• Kids Bean Bag Armchair with Footstool, currently £39.97 (was £44.99). A bean bag chair with a back and a matching footstool, good for reading corners or console gaming.
• Child's Bean Bag Armchair and Folding Z Bed, currently £79.99 (was £94.97). A bundle that pairs a chair with a fold-out bed in the same print.

How to save more

• Buy the bundle if you want both. The chair and Z bed set costs less than buying the two pieces separately.
• Compare listings. The same bean bag appears several times in different prints, so check the price of the one you want rather than assuming they're all the same.
• Replace parts rather than the whole sofa. Spare play sofa buttons are sold separately from £29.99.

Products, prices and offers checked on the store's own website on 4 Oct 2026. Prices and stock can change.
