The Scottish Fine Soaps Company has been making soaps and toiletries in central Scotland since 1974. It is still family-owned, now in its fourth generation, and says it makes about 99.5% of its products at its own site near Falkirk. The shop suits anyone after everyday hand wash and body care with a Scottish twist, and it is a handy place for gifts at a range of prices.

Products are grouped into scented collections such as Sea Kelp, Au Lait, Wild Heather, Oakmoss and the men's Thistle & Black Pepper range, plus seasonal lines like Orchard Spice and Fir & Firelight for autumn and winter. The brand says its new-look products are vegan-friendly and free from parabens and microbeads, and that it does not test on animals.

Many of the bottles are made from recycled plastic, and the most popular hand and body washes come in large refill pouches, which also work out cheaper per millilitre. Gift sets are a big part of the range, from small hand care sets to diffuser boxes, and orders arrive in recyclable cardboard boxes.
