Buddylicious is a dog treat company based near Abingdon in Oxfordshire. The owners say they started it while training their own pointer and vizsla, because they wanted a strong-tasting reward that fits in a pocket without leaving a smell. The range now covers air-dried meat and fish treats, semi-moist training treats, antler and wood chews, bundles and gift boxes. It suits owners who are doing a lot of training, anyone looking for single-protein treats, and people buying a present for a dog-owning friend.
What's worth a look
- Wild Deer Cubes, currently £6. Small cubes of air-dried wild venison with nothing else added. They're easy to break up, which makes them handy as training rewards, and a good option if you want a treat made from a single meat.
- Serrano Ham Treats, currently £2.50 a pack. Soft, semi-moist treats in ham, beef, chicken and turkey flavours. The ham version is listed as 73% meat. They're cheap enough to keep a pack in every coat pocket and are aimed at training sessions.
- Deer Antler Chew Easy, from £9. Naturally shed antler, split down the middle to expose the softer centre and buffed smooth at the edges. It's meant for dogs who like antlers but find a whole one hard going. There's also a whole Deer Antler Chew Hard from £8 for keener chewers.
- Puppy Starter Bundle, currently £29 (was £32 for medium). A first selection for a new puppy: all four Serrano flavours, Deer and Boar Cubes and an olive wood stick in medium or large.
- Dog Treats Gift Box - Dog Theme, currently £21. A boxed mix of natural treats designed as a birthday present for a dog. There are smaller farmyard and wild animal themed boxes at £13.50.
As with any chew, the site advises supervising your dog and taking away small pieces at the end so they don't become a choking hazard.
Current offers
- New customers can get 10% off their first order with code BuddyL10.
- UK delivery is free on orders over £25. Parts of the Scottish Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland and other offshore areas may be charged extra.
- The bundles are priced below buying the items one by one. The Training Treats Bundle is £21 instead of £28, the Single Protein Treats Bundle is £22 instead of £29, and the large "My Pup Deserves it All" bundle is £55 instead of £86.
How to save more
- Single packs are mostly £2.50 to £6, so it's easy to fall short of free delivery. Adding another pack or two of Serrano treats usually tips a small order over £25.
- Antler chews come in 2 and 3 packs, which cost less per antler than buying singles. That's worth it if you have more than one dog or want a spare.
