Optimum Nutrition, known as ON, has been making sports nutrition since 1986. It's best known for Gold Standard 100% Whey. Its UK website sells the full range directly: protein, clear protein, creatine, electrolytes, pre-workout and shakers, plus discounted bundles that you won't find everywhere. It suits gym-goers who already know what they use and want to buy in bulk, and newcomers who'd rather start with a familiar brand.

What's worth a look

  • Gold Standard 100% Whey Protein Powder: currently from £24 for the 310g tub (prices can change). This is ON's main whey protein. Each serving has 24g of protein and under 120 calories, and it comes in lots of flavours and sizes up to 4.53kg. It's the obvious choice if you want an everyday post-workout shake.
  • 2x Gold Standard 100% Whey Protein (5lb): currently £171.50 instead of £196, which saves £24.50. This is for people who get through a lot of protein and have room to store two big tubs.
  • Micronised Creatine Powder: currently from £14 for 187g (55 servings). The product page says there's 25% off the unflavoured 317g tub, which is listed at £22, until 4 October 2026. It's plain creatine monohydrate, available unflavoured or in fruit flavours.
  • Clear Protein Powder: currently £21 for 240g (10 servings) or £35 for 480g. It's a juice-style whey isolate drink with 20g of protein and 82kcal per serving. It's a good option if milky shakes put you off.
  • Bundles: the Gold Standard Starter Pack is currently £73.43 (was £86.99), the Gold Standard Whey Protein & Creatine Pack is £99.97 (was £120), and the Clear Protein & Creatine Pack is £43.89 (was £56.99). These suit people who want two or three staples in one order.

Current offers

  • 15% off your first order when you join the newsletter.
  • Free next-day delivery on orders over £50. The site says you need to order before 2pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Up to 25% off selected creatine.
  • Save £24.50 on two 5lb tubs of Gold Standard Whey.
  • 30 Creatine Sachets for £24 (3x Creatine Sachets Pack), which works out at 80p a day.
  • 30 Electrolyte Sachets for £24 (3x Electrolyte Sachets Pack), also 80p a day.
  • Clear Protein + Creatine bundle: save 23%.
  • Gold Standard Whey Protein & Creatine bundle: save 17%.
  • Gold Standard Starter bundle: save 16%.

How to save more

  • Plan your first order around the newsletter code. The 15% welcome discount only works once, so use it on a bigger order rather than a single tub.
  • Get over £50 for free delivery. Several bundles cost more than £50 on their own. If you're buying a single tub of whey, adding creatine or electrolytes can get you over the threshold.
  • Compare bundles with buying separately. The bundle page shows the original price next to the reduced one, so you can check the saving quickly. Only buy a bundle if you'd actually use everything in it.
