TroubleBuddy is a Windows app that tries to take the guesswork out of everyday PC problems. Rather than searching forums for an error code, you type what is going wrong in plain English, something like "my laptop takes ages to start", and the app looks at what is running on your machine and suggests a fix. It asks for your go-ahead before changing anything, and the help pages say it creates a restore point first.
The company was set up in 2025 by a small, mostly remote team with a London base. The app is still in beta, so expect regular updates and a few features listed as coming soon. It suits home users who look after their own Windows 10 or 11 PC and would rather not pay a repair shop for routine jobs like clearing start-up clutter or freeing up disk space.
What's worth a look
- The TroubleBuddy desktop app runs on Windows 10 (version 1903 or later) and Windows 11. It covers health checks, start-up speed, disk space, background apps, network problems and Windows updates, with basic diagnostics available offline.
- The Basic plan is currently £7.50 a month. It gives you 20 AI diagnoses a day, a basic system scan, common one-click fixes and email support.
- The Premium plan is currently £12.50 a month and raises the limit to 100 diagnoses a day, adding deeper scans, automated fixes and scripts, and priority email support.
- The Pro plan for small teams and IT staff is listed at £25 per user per month and covers up to ten devices, with team tools and reporting. You register interest rather than buy straight away.
- The help centre explains what the app won't do automatically. For a laptop that won't charge or a device that won't switch on, it walks you through safe checks and offers to put you in touch with a person.
Current offers
- TroubleBuddy is running a limited-time offer for early adopters: a free year, issued as a promo code when you sign up. The site doesn't print a code, so sign up through the download page to see how it applies to your account.
Prices are in pounds and plans can be cancelled at any time, according to the pricing page. Prices and offers can change, so check the site before you subscribe.
How to save more
- Start on Basic. Twenty diagnoses a day is plenty for most home users, and you can move up to Premium later if you keep hitting the limit.
- Because you can cancel at any time, you could subscribe for a single month to deal with one stubborn problem rather than paying all year.
- Check the system requirements on the download page before paying. You need Windows 10 (1903 or later) or Windows 11, 2GB of RAM and an internet connection for the AI features.
Products, prices and offers checked on the store's own website on 4 Oct 2026. Prices and stock can change.
