Boots is the UK's best-known high street chemist, selling beauty, toiletries, health products, electricals and baby items, with a pharmacy and online doctor service alongside. It suits almost everyone, but it's especially useful for gift shoppers in autumn, when its Christmas ranges and multibuys start. The Advantage Card loyalty scheme also unlocks member prices.
This year's Christmas shop is already live, with weekly offers, gift finders by recipient and price, and a stocking-filler section. Shopping early gives you the widest choice of gift sets before popular ones sell out.
What's worth a look

- No7 better than half price collections: bundles of Boots' own No7 skincare and makeup, a good fit for skincare fans who'd use everything in the set.
- Price-led gift edits such as gifts under £10 and gifts under £20 are useful for sticking to a budget for colleagues or Secret Santa. There's also a dedicated fragrance offers page if you're buying perfume or aftershave.

- Click and collect is free from £15, compared with £25 for free delivery, so collecting from your local store is cheaper for smaller orders.
