Decathlon is a sports retailer best known for its own-brand kit across dozens of sports, from hiking and camping to cycling, running and football. Prices start low and the range runs right up to e-bikes and treadmills, so it suits beginners trying a new sport, families kitting out several people at once, and regulars replacing worn-out gear. The homepage is currently focused on autumn: commuting, wet-weather running and an end-of-season mountain sale. You can also shop by sport, with sections for cycling, hiking, camping, running, swimming, football, fitness and golf, which is handy if you're buying for one activity.
What's worth a look
- Men's waterproof mountain hiking jacket, MH500: currently £79.99. A waterproof shell for hill walkers who want proper rain protection without spending a fortune. Prices can change.
- Multi-pocket hiking backpack 23 L, Escape 500: currently £33.99 (shown down from £34.99). A day pack sized for walks, commuting or a weekend away.
- 4-person camping tent, Arpenaz 4.1: currently £199.99. A family tent worth considering if you're planning next year's camping trips and want to spread the cost.
- Men's Cycling Jacket Neon Yellow, 100 Series: currently £19.99, and the 100 City Cycling Rain Overtrousers with Built-In Shoe Covers are currently £14.99 (down from £19.99). Together they make a cheap way to stay visible and dry on the commute as the evenings draw in.
- Folding running treadmill 16 km/h, RUN500: currently £699.99. For runners who'd rather train indoors on dark winter evenings and need something that folds away.

How to save more
- Use free standard Click & Collect: Decathlon says your order will be ready in your chosen store within 7 days. If you need it sooner, Click & Collect 1 hour costs £1.99. Standard home delivery starts at £2.99 for small items and rises with size and weight, and bikes and bulky items cost more.

- Check the "Former price" line on product pages. Some savings are small (the Escape 500 pack is £1 off), so compare against the end-of-season sale before you decide.
