Emma is an online mattress and sleep brand selling mattresses, pillows, toppers, duvets, beds and bedding, with a long home trial and free delivery and returns. It also has stores where you can test mattresses with a sleep consultation. Emma suits anyone replacing a tired mattress who wants to try it at home first, and people who sleep hot and want cooling materials. If you're unsure which model to choose, the site has a short quiz that compares its higher-spec and budget ranges.

What's worth a look

  • Original Lite Mattress: currently from £199. It has four layers (22 cm deep) with hybrid three-zone springs and a medium-firm feel. A budget option for guest rooms, kids' rooms or a first flat. Prices can change and depend on size.
  • Original Mattress: currently from £369, with a free pillow worth £85 shown when we checked. It has five layers (25 cm) and a medium-firm feel, and suits most couples who want something mid-range.
  • Original Pro Mattress: currently from £539, with free pillows and a protector worth up to £269. It has six layers (27 cm), a medium feel and Emma's Thermosync temperature regulation, so it's one for warm sleepers.
  • Performance 28 Mattress: currently from £859, with free pillows, a protector and a duvet worth up to £464. It has seven layers (28 cm) and a cool-to-touch cover, for anyone ready to spend more on a deeper mattress.
  • Adapt Cooling Pillow: currently £99, or £198 for the two-pillow bundle, which came with a free duvet worth £75. A memory-foam pillow with medium to firm support. If you prefer something softer, the Comfort Cooling Pillow is currently £85, with a fluffy microfibre filling and an Outlast cooling layer.

Current offers

  • Free products worth up to £509 with selected mattresses (Emma calls this its Ultimate Sleep Giveaway).
  • Up to 200-night mattress trial.
  • Free delivery and returns.
  • 20% off for students, NHS staff, teachers and the military.
  • 0% finance with SplitIt.
  • Up to 10-year guarantee on mattresses.

How to save more

  • Check what's free with each model, not just the price. The free extras differ by mattress (from one £85 pillow to pillows, protector and duvet), so if you need bedding anyway, a dearer mattress can work out better value.
  • If you're a student or work for the NHS, in teaching or in the military, verify for the 20% discount before you check out.
  • Sign up to Emma's newsletter for exclusive offers, and use the 200-night trial properly. Give your body a few weeks to adjust before deciding, but note the return deadline.
