Gousto is a UK recipe box service: you pick dinners from a weekly menu and it delivers pre-measured ingredients and recipe cards to your door. Its box prices page says it now offers boxes for 1 to 5 people, and you can change the box size and number of recipes from week to week. If you're cooking for one and fed up with half-used jars, or a family trying to plan the week's meals, it's worth a look. The same goes if you just want fewer trips to the supermarket.
What's worth a look
- Two-person box with five recipes: Gousto's own price checker shows this box at currently £46.50 per order (£4.65 per portion), or £23.25 for a first box with the new-customer discount. Delivery is charged on top. Prices can change, so tick your box size and recipe count on that page to get your own figure. A good fit for couples, or one adult and one or two children.
- Meal boxes for one: Gousto says these start from £3.20 per serving, with collections like Quick & Easy, Prepped in 5 and vegetarian. A practical choice if you live alone and want to cut food waste.
- Family meal boxes: Gousto says there are more than 175 recipes on the menu each week, including kid-friendly dishes such as its Simply Perfect Spag Bol. Some recipe steps can be adapted for fussy eaters. Prices follow the box-size checker above.
- 10-minute meals: the homepage says there are more than 40 ten-minute recipes every week, plus a Heat & Eat range for nights when you don't want to cook from scratch. Handy for shift workers and busy weeknights.

How to save more
- Plan around the eight-box discount. The staged discount only lasts for your first eight boxes, so use those weeks to work out which box size and recipe count suits you. After that you'll be paying full price.
- More recipes per box means a lower price per portion. On the price checker, the cost per portion changes with your box size and the number of recipes. Try a few combinations before you commit.
- Skip weeks you don't need. If you're away or have a busy social week, skip the box rather than let ingredients go to waste. It's free to do.
