Gousto is a British recipe box company founded by Timo Boldt and James Carter. Its trading company, SCA Investments Limited, was set up in 2012, and the business is based at the Shepherds Building in Shepherd's Bush, London. The founders appeared on the BBC's Dragons' Den in 2013, and the company later raised funding from investors including Unilever Ventures and the fitness coach Joe Wicks.
Gousto delivers boxes of pre-measured fresh ingredients with step-by-step recipe cards, so you can cook a set number of meals at home. You choose 2 to 5 recipes a week for 1 to 5 people from a large weekly menu, with vegetarian, vegan, family, low-calorie and other options. Extra desserts, drinks and cupboard staples are available through Gousto Market.
Gousto works as a flexible subscription: you set how often boxes arrive (weekly, fortnightly or monthly), and you can skip a week or cancel online without a fee before the cut-off. Boxes are delivered any day of the week in an insulated Eco Chill box, so you don't need to be home. It sells online and through its app only, with no shops.
