Sweet Zer0 is run by members of the Voucher Magpie founder's family. It's a small Welsh business, started in 2022 by siblings Amelia and Elliott Dodd, that sells vegan pick 'n' mix in big bags. Every sweet is vegan, and the shop says they're also vegetarian, halal friendly, dairy free and alcohol free. Bags are sealed in home-compostable packaging, and each order triggers a donation to more:trees to plant a tree. The shop says it reached Net Zero in August 2022 and has stayed there since. It suits vegan and vegetarian households, anyone buying for a party, and people who'd like less plastic with their sweets.

What's worth a look

• Vegan Fizzy Sweets: currently £9.99 for the 1kg bag, which holds 850–900g of sweets. It's all fizzy and sour, for anyone who likes their pick 'n' mix with a tingle.
• Vegan Non-Fizzy Sweets: currently £9.99 for 1kg. It's the chewy, jelly and gummy favourites with no fizz, so it's a safer choice for younger children or anyone who finds sour sweets too sharp.
• Vegan Sweets Mixed Bag: currently £9.99 for 1kg. It mixes fizzy, sour, jelly and gummy sweets, which makes it the easy choice for a family sharing one bag.
• 150g party favours: currently £4.50 a bag, in any of the three mixes. Each bag holds 100–125g of sweets and comes with an 8cm × 6cm label you design yourself, which works well for birthdays and other celebrations. Choose the size on any of the product pages above.

Every bag is packed differently, so the exact mix varies. Prices can change. On allergens, the sweets contain no nuts but nuts are handled on site, and Sweet Zer0 can't guarantee any bag is gluten free.

How to save more

• Order bags together. Postage is £3.50 for one bag, £5.00 for two and £7.50 for three or more. Splitting an order with a friend or buying for a party works out cheaper per bag than ordering one at a time.
• Collect for free if you can. Free collection is offered at checkout as an alternative to postage.
• Keep them fresh. The shop recommends eating them within four weeks for the best taste and keeping opened bags in an airtight container. A 1kg bag lasts longer if you split it into a sealed tub.
