JD Sports is one of the UK's best-known sportswear and trainer retailers, stocking the big names such as adidas, Nike, New Balance, ASICS and On Running alongside its own campaigns and exclusives. Its men's footwear section alone lists close to 2,000 lines, from football boots and running shoes to slides and clogs. It suits anyone after the latest lifestyle trainers, students on a budget, and parents kitting out teenagers who know exactly which colourway they want.

What's worth a look

Prices below are as shown on JD's site today and can change at any time.

  • adidas Originals Handball Spezial (black): currently £90. A slim, low-profile terrace-style trainer with a suede upper that has been a fixture of JD's best-seller lists. A good everyday pair if you prefer a flatter, retro shape to chunky running styles.
  • New Balance 9060 (black): currently £160. A chunky, cushioned lifestyle shoe for people who want a bolder look and plenty of underfoot comfort for long days on their feet.
  • On Running Cloud 6 Waterproof (black): currently £160. A lightweight everyday shoe with a waterproof build, which makes it a practical pick for wet commutes and dog walks as the weather turns.
  • UGG Tasman II (black): currently £115. A slip-on suede slipper-shoe that works around the house and for quick trips out, and a likely gift request as Christmas approaches.
  • Crocs Classic Clog (black): currently £50. The familiar lightweight clog, handy for the garden, the gym changing room or as a spare pair by the back door.

If none of those appeal, the men's footwear section can be filtered by brand, size and category, including running shoes and football boots.

Current offers

  • Students get 20% off. JD's site also flags an extra 20% JD Cash for students verified through JD Status.
  • Up to 60% off men's clothing in the sale, which you'll find in the sale section. The site is also running "Big Brand Offers" promotions.
  • 10% off your next order when you sign up to the newsletter.
  • Free standard delivery on orders over £80, and free next-day delivery on orders over £120.
  • Free Click & Collect, with same-day collection if you order by 2pm.

How to save more

  • Check the delivery thresholds before you pay. A single £90 pair of Handball Spezials clears the £80 free standard delivery line on its own, while the £160 pairs above also qualify for free next-day delivery.
  • If you're not in a rush, Click & Collect is free and can be same-day if you order before 2pm, which avoids paying for delivery on smaller orders such as slides or socks.
  • Students should verify before checking out, because the 20% discount and the JD Cash bonus depend on it. Note that the student discount badge appears on some products but not all, so check the product page before you add to your basket.
