The Works is a UK discount chain with over 500 shops, selling books, jigsaw puzzles, arts and crafts, stationery and toys. Prices are often well below RRP, and multibuy deals run across most of the range. It suits readers who get through a lot of books, families who need craft supplies and party bag fillers, and puzzle fans who finish a jigsaw a week.
What's worth a look
- Threshing Day: Deluxe Edition by Rebecca Yarros: currently £11.00 in hardback, against an RRP of £22.00. It's a special edition for fantasy readers and Yarros fans who like a collectable copy on the shelf.
- Ghost and Toast by Phil Corbett: currently £5.00 in paperback, against an RRP of £8.99. It's a funny graphic novel from the creator of Kitty Quest, good for reluctant readers who prefer comics.
- 1000-piece jigsaw puzzles, 2 for £16: individual puzzles in this range, such as Sunset at the Pub and Garden Room Pets, are £9 each. Two in the deal saves £2. It's for regular puzzlers, or anyone stocking up before the long evenings.
- 6 for £5 mix and match pocket money toys: small toys and games that start at £1 each, such as a Pack of Playing Cards. They're handy for party bags, rewards and stocking fillers.
Each book page shows the RRP and the percentage saving. Threshing Day, for example, is listed at 50% off RRP. Prices can change, so check the product page before you order.
