Cornish Sea Salt harvests its salt from the clear Atlantic water off the Lizard peninsula in south Cornwall. The company's story starts with founder Tony Fraser stumbling on an Iron Age salt works on a coastal walk and wondering why Cornwall had stopped making its own salt. Today the pots turn up in restaurant kitchens as well as home cupboards, and the brand says it sells in more than 36 countries.
The online shop suits keen home cooks, barbecue fans and anyone looking for an inexpensive foodie gift. Alongside the classic flakes and crystals there's a growing range of flavoured blends, and the bundles are where most of the savings are.

If you're stocking up, the larger refill bags (up to 1.5kg of crystals) cost less per gram than the small pots.
The salt is harvested from the protected waters around the Lizard, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the company points to the local serpentine and gabbro rocks, rich in magnesium and calcium, as part of what gives its salt its character.
