PetCareSupplies.com is an online pet shop set up mainly for customers in the US. Prices are in US dollars and most orders are sent from its warehouses outside the US (the store doesn't say which countries). It does deliver to the UK: orders going outside the USA pay a flat $9.95 delivery charge, and the store suggests allowing 10 to 15 working days. Its "tariff paid" promise is aimed at US buyers, so UK shoppers may have to pay import VAT, duty or a courier handling fee when the parcel arrives, and some card providers add a small foreign transaction fee.

So it's not an obvious first stop for most UK pet owners, but it may suit readers abroad, expats, or anyone hunting for a particular grooming or dental product. The range covers dogs, cats, horses and birds. In this article we only look at its everyday, non-prescription supplies: dental care, grooming and hygiene products, and supplements. We couldn't load the live site because it blocks automated requests, so the prices below come from archived copies of the store's own pages. They are likely to have changed since.

What's worth a look

Many of these products are made by UK brands and are easy to find from UK retailers. Once you add the $9.95 delivery charge, possible import charges and the exchange rate, compare the total with a UK shop before you order.

Current offers

We don't have any discount codes for PetCareSupplies at the moment. These offers were on the store's own pages when we checked archived copies, so check they still apply:

  • Auto Order: an extra 10% off items you set to repeat, on a schedule from every 10 weeks to once a year.
  • Welcome bonus: 20 PawPoints when you register an account.
  • PawPoints: one point for every $1 you spend, and 500 points within a year turn into $50 of loyalty credit.
  • PetCare+ membership: $99 a year for member prices of up to 40% off, 10 PawPoints a month and a free gift with every second order. It renews automatically and the fee isn't refundable.

The free delivery on orders over $49 is for US addresses only. UK orders pay $9.95 whatever the order value.

How to save more

  • Put everything into one basket. You pay the same $9.95 delivery charge on every order, so one bigger order works out cheaper than several small ones.
  • Use Auto Order for things you run through steadily, like toothpaste, to get the extra 10% off each time.
  • Do the maths before paying for PetCare+. At $99 a year it only pays off if you spend a fair amount, and UK import charges come on top of member prices.

Speak to your vet if you have any concerns about your pet's health.
