About Argos
Argos is a British general retailer founded in 1972 by Richard Tompkins, who adapted his Green Shield Stamps business into a catalogue shop where customers chose items from a printed book rather than from shelves. It has been owned by Sainsbury's since 2016, when the supermarket bought Argos's former parent, Home Retail Group. The printed catalogue has since been dropped in favour of the website and app.
Argos sells a wide general range, including toys, gaming, technology, small and large kitchen appliances, furniture, homeware, garden items and jewellery. The site also sells products from third-party Trusted Sellers, and Tu clothing from Sainsbury's.
As well as its own shops, Argos runs counters inside many Sainsbury's supermarkets and collection points in Sainsbury's Local stores. Click and collect is free, and orders are held for seven days. Small items cost £4.95 to deliver, or nothing on orders over £100, and same-day Fast Track delivery costs £7.95 in areas where it is offered. For regular shoppers, the Argos Plus pass costs £40 for 12 months of same-day, next-day and standard delivery on eligible online orders of £20 or more.

- Add what you want to your basket on argos.co.uk, or in the Argos app if the code is app-only.
- At checkout, choose delivery or click & collect. Free Click & Collect from Argos stores and Sainsbury's collection points, with seven days to pick up and same-day collection on thousands of products.
- Paste the code into the discount code or promo code box and apply it. Check the discount shows in your order total before you pay.
- Didn't work? Tap Didn't work? under the code so we can recheck it, and read why codes fail.
Ways to save at Argos
- Spend £100 or more on small items to get free home delivery instead of paying £4.95.
- Choose Click & Collect to avoid delivery charges, since collection from an Argos store or Sainsbury's collection point is free.
- Link your Nectar card to your Argos account to collect 1 point per £1, then spend 500 points as £2.50 off.
- If you order online often, compare the £40 Argos Plus pass with what you pay in delivery fees, as it covers eligible orders of £20 or more for a year.
- Shop for Christmas from late September, as items bought from 23 September can be returned until 31 January.
