Hot Diamonds is a British jewellery brand designed in Berkshire, and its whole range is built around one idea: a real diamond in every piece. Necklaces, earrings, rings and bracelets are made from 925 sterling silver, hand-set with a small diamond and rhodium-plated to help them resist tarnish. It suits anyone buying a gift that feels special without the price of solid gold, and people who like delicate everyday jewellery they can layer.

Alongside the signature silver, the HD x Golden Edit range uses 18ct gold plating and natural stones such as malachite and mother of pearl, while Silver Whisper is a sterling silver gift line under £30 (these pieces don't contain diamonds). Every order arrives in a gift box with free luxury gift wrap.

The brand is a member of the Responsible Jewellery Council and says around 60% of its jewellery is already made with recycled silver, with recyclable packaging and boxes designed to be reused. Most full-price pieces sit between about £30 and £150, and the site lets you shop by metal, stone or occasion, with gift sets and gift guides if you're stuck for ideas.

The Romantic Pendant at £89 is a classic open heart with three tiny diamonds, and it comes with a 40 to 45cm silver chain, so it's ready to give. If your budget is smaller, the Silver Whisper Good Luck Bracelet costs £29.95 and has a little clover charm; there are versions for birthdays, new mums, bridesmaids and graduations too.

For something with colour, the Revive Malachite Square Pendant pairs deep green stone with gold-plated silver for £99. And it's worth browsing the Outlet: the Desire Ring, a small heart ring set with a diamond, is £44.50 there, half the £89 shown as its old price on the Outlet listing.

• Check ring and necklace size guides before ordering. Earrings can't be sent back unless faulty, so choose those carefully.
