TTfone designs simple mobile phones from its base in Waltham Abbey, Essex. Its handsets have large tactile keys, clear screens and loud audio, and many have an emergency button that calls up to five contacts. They're popular with older people and anyone with sight, hearing or dexterity difficulties. They also suit parents choosing a first phone for a child, or anyone who wants a 'dumbphone' and fewer notifications.

All phones are sold unlocked, and on many models you can choose a pay-as-you-go SIM from O2, EE, Giffgaff, Vodafone or Three at checkout, so the phone arrives ready to use. Standard UK delivery is free, and weekday orders placed by 2pm are dispatched the same day.

For most people buying for an older relative, the TT880 at £18.99 covers the basics well: big buttons, talking keys, an emergency button, a torch and USB-C charging. If they prefer a flip phone, the TT760 4G at £42.99 answers and ends calls as you open and close it. The TT990 at £169.99 is the most capable model, a 4G flip phone with a touchscreen, an SOS button and WhatsApp.

In between, the TT280 4G at £84.99 is TTfone's middle ground. It's a 4G bar phone with a physical keypad and a 2.8-inch touchscreen, dual SIM slots and a camera. It suits people who want a little more than calls and texts without the pull of a full smartphone. If money is tight, the Open-Box section is worth a look. The used TT240 is £14.99, and the returned phones there are tested and working, though some have small cosmetic marks. Accessories are cheap to add, from pay-as-you-go SIM cards at 99p to spare batteries, holster cases and charging docks. The clear case for the TT280 is currently £12.99, down from £14.99.
