APH (Airport Parking & Hotels) has been selling airport parking in the UK since 1980 and is still family owned. It runs its own car parks for Gatwick and Manchester and sells partner options at most major UK airports, plus Dover and Southampton ports. You can compare park and ride, self-park and meet and greet side by side, and add an airport hotel, a lounge or car hire to the same trip.

It suits anyone driving to the airport who wants to know the cost up front: APH says there are no hidden fees or booking charges, and it has won Best Airport Parking Company at the British Travel Awards every year since 2010.

What's worth a look

These are the airports and services we'd look at first, with the lead-in prices APH shows.

The airport pages are worth reading before you book because they show how much timing matters. On the Heathrow parking page, average daily prices rise from £6.17 when booked more than six months ahead to £16.42 a week before travel. At Manchester the figures go from £6.42 to £12.85 a day, and APH's own park and ride there costs £77.95 for a week.

If you have an early flight, hotel and parking packages bundle a night's stay with parking for the whole trip. They start at £94.00 at Liverpool John Lennon and £100.00 at Manchester. For the quickest drop-off, meet and greet lets you hand your keys to a driver at the terminal, from £79.00 a week.

APH also sells airport lounge passes at the major UK airports, which can be a calmer place to wait with food and drink before your flight. Enter your airport and flight time to get a live quote, as lounge prices aren't listed on the page. If you're travelling in a group with several cars, APH asks you to call its team for a price.

How to save more

• Book as early as you can. The price tables on APH's airport pages show daily rates roughly doubling in the last few weeks.
• Turn spare Clubcard vouchers into APH tokens: you can use up to five tokens per booking online, but no change is given if the token value is more than your parking.
• For meet and greet, check whether the airport's forecourt drop-off charge is included in the price or payable on the day.
