Bensons for Beds has launched a flash sale tonight. The code ORDERS5 takes an extra 5% off orders from 6pm on Tuesday 13 October until 9am on Wednesday 14 October. That gives you a 15-hour window, most of it overnight, so if you've already picked a bed or mattress, it's worth ordering before you go to bed rather than leaving it until the morning.

A second offer follows this weekend: free pillows on all orders, applied automatically with no code needed, from 5pm on Sunday 18 October until 9am on Monday 19 October.

What 5% is worth

As an illustration, on a £600 bed and mattress order an extra 5% off is £30, and on a £1,000 order it's £50. Bensons hasn't said whether the code can be used on items that are already reduced, so add it at checkout and check the basket total changes before you pay.

Your rights when you buy a bed online

When you buy online, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 usually give you 14 days from delivery to change your mind. There are exceptions that matter for beds. Goods made to your specification or clearly personalised, such as a made-to-order headboard in a chosen fabric, aren't covered. Neither are sealed goods that can't be returned for hygiene reasons once you've unsealed them, which can include mattresses. So check Bensons' own returns policy for the item you're buying, and keep a mattress in its wrapping until you're sure it's the one you want.

Whatever you buy, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 says it must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If something is faulty, you can reject it for a full refund within 30 days.
